Dr. Lynda Newkirk

Dr. Lynda Newkirk is a seasoned Family Physician, passionate about caring for families. She completed her medical education at the University of Western Ontario and her residency at McMaster University. After beginning her career in Northern Ontario, Dr. Newkirk returned to Hamilton to raise her family. Over the years, she has practiced both community family medicine and hospital-based medicine, and has been involved in medical education.

The challenges Dr. Newkirk encountered feeding her first child sparked her interest in Lactation Medicine. She attended conferences, took courses, completed a clinical internship, and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She continues to participate in ongoing education in the field.

Dr. Newkirk now focuses her practice on Lactation Medicine and holistic fourth trimester care, supporting each family’s unique needs and guiding them along their journey.

When not practicing medicine or studying, Dr. Newkirk enjoys doing yoga, skiing, spending time with her family and snuggling with her cats.
